The Prior Lake Rotary Club has installed ten Little Free Libraries around Prior Lake and Savage. Please click on the " Read More" button below to read about the story and see more pictures.

The libraries were a part of our literacy project for the Rotary Club of Prior Lake. Our goal was to create 10 Little Free Libraries (LFL) and distribute them among our community. We contacted the high school and the Industrial Arts Program. Joe Deutsch (the teacher) was thrilled to do the project for us. The students built them, and received credit for the project. We then contacted Dave Brown and the art department at Bridges ALC to have the students paint and create something unique... They turned out beautifully; credit was also earned for this project at Bridges. This project is unique in that we were able to do something creative with all aspects of our student body in the Prior Lake Savage Area Schools. A joint project for our conventional students, as well as our alternative students.

We are excited to be placing them in neighborhoods in our community and to be promoting literacy in the process... These little libraries will give back to the community for years to come! We are hoping to have some sort of open house to welcome the libraries into the community and promote filling them with books...
