Today, Prior Lake Rotary Club made a $2000 check presentation to Junior Achievement to support Biz Town and classroom supplies. Accepting the check is Jill Gilbert from Paul Perez (l) President Elect and Paul Hofslein, Rotary Foundation Chair.

JA BizTown is a kid-sized city within Junior Achievement headquarters in Maplewood, MN. It was first introduced to the Minneapolis/St. Paul market on October 16, 2001. During its first year, JA BizTown served approximately 5,500 students; last year the program reached more than 100 schools and 12,000 students. Only 25 markets in the world provide this incredible opportunity for students to experience a real-world, hands-on application of their classroom learning.

Junior Achievement offers financial literacy, college and career readiness, and entrepreneurship education to K-12 students in Minnesota, North Dakota and western Wisconsin. JA empowers students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
